FRENCH CARGO OF HORSES LANDED Horses All Reported in Good Condition After Thirty-Seven Bays En Route on Steamer. New York, December 29. The steamer Manhattan, on which a cargo of weanlings, yearlings and the stallion Yankee were brought to this country from France, was finally docked today, after laying in tin? harbor since December 20, waiting for docking facilities. Though the thoroughbreds were thirty-seven days en route, all were reported in good condition when landed. Considerable interest was manifest in the arrival of Yankee, and his ultimate destination. While the papers for the Hitchcock thoroughbreds had not been received at the time of unloading, it is believed Yankee and the others belonging to that stable will be shipped direct to Hamburg Place in Kentucky, Mr. Madden being a joint owner in the consignment. The band belonging to John Sanford will be shipped to Lexington, and the twenty-four weanlings imported by Delbert Reiff also are said to be headed in the same direction.
