BREEZES SPECTACULAR WIN Captures Buffalo Handicap After Hard Drive Golden Spheres Defeat a Stunner. FORT ERIE. Out., July i. The Buffalo Handicap, a dasli of a mile and a sixteenth, resulted in an impressive victory for Mrs. G. H. Abbotts Breeze over Clean Gone and Lucky B., with the only other starter, Kinburn, several lengths back. The race was a spectacular one and kept the big crowd on its toes from start to finish. Lucky B. set the pace, followed by Breeze, with Kinburn in third place. Coming into the stretch Lang, who had the mount on the w;inner. came up with a rush and Breeze was going away under a hard drive. The distance was run in 1:45, which, taking everything into consideration, was a good performance. The Black Rock purse, which served as the secondary feature, resulted in a severe blow for the talent when the heavily backed Golden Sphere was second to Jean Corey. Lancaster can be held responsible for the defeat of the imported horse by his dilatory riding tactics. Off to a good start, Hildur and Jean Corey were the ones to set the early pace, which positions they maintained till well into the stretch. Lang, who had the mount on Jean Corey, allowed his mount to swerve down to the inside, which interfered with Hildur to a slight extent. In the meantime Lancaster came through on the inside with Golden Sphere and he closed in a determined manner. Ansae was the one to take the small end of the purse. In retaliation for the claim made against him the other day, C. T. Worthington, following the running of the first race, took Evalyn White from J. Dundee for ,000. Jockeys E. Barnes and II. Myers were each suspended three days yesterday by starter Morrissey for disobedience at the barrier. Trainer C. F. Clark will ship the J. H. Louch-heini liorses to Saratoga following the close of the Windsor meeting. Jockey George Walls will accompany the stable. W. A. MeKinney will transfer the E. T. Zolli-.c.offer stable, to Hamilton,- Ont;,-on the conclusion-here. There are at present four of the string quartered at Hamilton, including Duke John. W. C. Westmoreland has arranged to take over from S. A. Clopton the two-year-old Bis Noise and another to be decided upon later. G. W. Foremans Crumpsall was withdrawn from the closing race today on account, of an attack of soreness, incurred by a recent work.
