The latter moved up steadily in the first quarter and was taken back on the turn, but came again and was closing up menacingly when her rider took her to the inside. whore she was out off. Won easily; second and third driving. FRENCH FURZE raced into a good lead at once and easily won all the way. SEA MINT saved ground when entering the stretch and. finishing gamely, outstayed ROULETTE in the final drive. The latter was prominent all the way. but tired slightly in the stretch drive. DUNCECAP, off poorly, closed a big gap. IRA WILSON ran well. ULUE TEAL, DUNCECAP and SALT PETER were practically left at the post. DR. JOHNSON quit badly after going a half mile. WIGWAM, always in closest pursuit of the leader, finished gamely and outstayed CONTOUR in the final drive. The latter raced green in the early running, but came fast through the final quarter mid would have been second in a few more stride.. WATERFEATHER could not improve her position. CAP ROCK, clo.-e up from the start, raced into the lead and made a game effort in the stretch, but tired near the end. TREVELYAN had a clear course on the outside and moved up menacingly at the eighth post, but also tired near the end. BILLY BARTON was poorly ridden, came wide when entering the stretch and finished close up. VIOLINIST set the pace to the far turn and dropped back. SCRIBBLE began slowly, but responded gamely to hard riding and wore GREAT LADY down in the final Strides. GREAT LADY raced forwardly for the first half mile, but tired in the stretch. JIGSTEP finished well. ETHNEA seemed unable to extend herself in the going. Scratched G4211 Lustrous, 114.
