ROUGH AND READY VICTOR Accounts for Elks Club Handicap Main Race at Columbus — Another for Royal Dick. COLUMBUS, Ohio, AprH 21— Ideal weather prevailed for the running of the Wednesday program at Beulah Park and the attendance was up to the usual high standard which has prevailed to date at the present meeting. The Elks Club Handicap was the feature and it brought together seven of the best long distance racers on the grounds. Inder good riding Bough and Beady took the measure of his opponents handily in the final eighth of this race and was returned winner by a good margin at the finish. Creen Woods, winner of the Inaugural Handicap on Saturday last, was placed second, but was hard pressed to hold off the fast finishing Bosh. Bockford. racing for B. Creech, was the favorite, but met with much Intel fei eat*, which seriously handicapped him. Outlawed dropped far out of it after setting the early pace. In the opening race the first four horses to reach the finish raced through the stretch almost on a line and the decision was in doubt until the last stride. Cloporte proved fjamest and was winner by a narrow margin from Royal Icorge. Royal Hick scored his second victory of the meeting when he showed the way to his opponents throughout in the second race, but had to do his best. Gus B. registered a well deserved victory from County Times and Coach Whip, coming from ln-hind in the stretch to gain the decision In the final stages of the third race. The winner came to the outside of County Times in the run home and was drawing away fast near the end. The fourth race saw the largest field of the day to face the barrier and right after the start and again at the first turn there was much crowding. Barriskane was returned the winner after following the leaders to the stretch, then moved up on the outside and drew away handily in the last seventy yards. Queen Anna Marie scored an easy win in the fifth race and was never extended after racing to the front when straightened out on the back stretch, scoring by a comfortable margin and having plenty of reserve at the finish. m
