■ HAVRE DE GRACE NOTES f * 1 HAVRE DE GRACE, April 18. Jack Iiow bought the three-year-old Johnny Raker from V. Martin and shipped him to Beulah Park. John P .Turner distributed checks in payment of Bowie purses among the horsemen. Clyde Phillips, first trainer for the Green-tree Stable, came to attend the opening. He will bring three or four horses, candidates for the different stakes to be run during the meeting from the Dong Island headquarters this week. Superintendent James Ross received a request for three stalls from Wm. Travers of the Ascot Stable, who has been resting his string at Miami since the close there. War Flame, the runner-up to War Eagle in the Miami Cup Handicap, is a Chesapeake eligible and will be one of the consignment. The others of the string will soon be sent to Long Island. T. J. Carroll came from St. Iouis for a | days sport, en route to his Saratoga home | I for the holiday. He shipped his string of ten from New Orleans to Pairmount Park, where racing will be resumed on May 28. Assistant starter Ed. Welter was kept busy schooling seventy or more horses at Pimlico during the morning hours.
