BAIN MARS OPENING OF TRACK BOSTON, Mass., June 15. The opening day of the thirty-seventh race meeting of the Country Club at its picturesque course, Brookline, was ruined by miserable weather. Rain fell before the running of the first race, which cut down the attendance considerably, and showers continued throughout the afternoon. The rain did not affect the going, which was fast. The best race of the day was the renewal of the Cham-blett Memorial Steeplechase. This attracted a well-matched band. There was quite a gathering of New Yorkers on hand for the opening. Among these were Tommy Butts, J. W. May, Mike R. Connorm, Gene Finnegan, B. Burns, J. T. Kermath, J. W. Maley, Al. Slofer and others.
