VOLT was crowded back while going the first quarter, but recovered gamely and. saving ground when entering the stretch, outfinished III IF S TIME and MOVE ON SETII MOVE ON SETH worked his way up on the outside and took the lead in the last eighth, but could not withstand TOLX in the last fifty yards. DFFFS TIME set n good pace to the stretch before tiring and finished well. THE HANGMAN saved ground on the inside in the stretch racing and closed an immense gap. KNIGHT-HOOD could not get through. WASHOE raced in close quarters throughout. MEDDLING SETH ran a good half mile.. Scratched— 2441 8-Rank Jr.. LENA M. forced the pace to the last turn, then passed LITTLE JACKIE into a good lead, but tired and was swerving out from near the end. costing her the decision. LITTLE JACKIE began qu:ckly and set a good pace to the stretch. lint could not withstand LENA M. and tired in a bard drive. MAC POOLS made up much ground while racing on the inside. MARY 15. was saved for the first three-quarters, then moved up resolutely in the stretch and forced the winner to do his best in the final seventy yards. JlST 15EAI" was far back in the early running and could not get through on the inside until in the stretch, then closed a gap and outgamed CUP O TEA. The latter set a good pace for three-quarters, but began tirinsr and gave way in the last eighth. SECRECY raced close up all the wav. but also tired in the final drive. The latter gained gradually and, by racing along the inner rail in the stretch, made up much ground. ANITA M. had no mishaps and was going fast at the end. PAT was outpaced. FLORENCE MILLS raced in closest pursuit of HOT TIME to the stretch, then tired and dropped back. PRISONER ran a bad race. ALI ISABA, racing in vastly improved form, followed ELFKIN closely to the stretch, then raced into the lead on the outside, but xvas hard ridden to outfinish JACK HORGAN. The latter raced far back to the stretch, then came fast on the outside after closing an immense gap and was wearing the winner down at the end. ELFKIN set a good pace to near the last eighth before tiring. RALIU HARTENSTEIN was on the inside all the way and ran a good race. JED had no mishaps. SIR JOHN K. was done in the stretch XTRA quit. Scratched— 21003Master Ace. 102. Overweight — AH Baba. 1 pound.
