GOLD PRINCESS, slow to reach her best stride, was steadied while saving ground to the stretch, came to the outside for the drive and, responding to a shaking up, disposed of MAKESHIFT and won drawing clear. The latter raced to the front early, set the pace to the final eighth, but was not good enough for the winner. BIG MEAL, a keen factor throughout, held on well in a good performance. SARAH I.ORA1NE tired after racing forwardly placed during the first half. IN THE NIGHT begau slowly and was never a serious contender. Won driving; second and third the same. DUST CAP, never far back, cam* gamely entering the stretch and, after disposing of RED HORIZON, won going away. The latter, a forward factor from the start, took command in the stretch and continued resolutely under punishment, but was unabl« to withstand the winner. SIDOUT, slow to begin and badly outrun to the final quarter, came to the outside for the drive and closed with a rush, giving a good effort. TO BOOT could not better his position under good handling. ALBINO was done early. JACK K. went to the front with a rush, established a long lead approaching the stretch and then quit badly. IRRESISTIBLE was never prominent. AVA DELIGHT, in hand while saving ground to the stretch, was steered to the inside at a saving of ground when entering the stretch and, responding to good urging, disposed of HAREBELL in the last sixteenth. HAREBELL, well handled, was sent into command while settling for the drive and continued determinedly under punishment, but was unable to withstand the winner. APPOINTEE, never far back, made a good bid approaching the stretch and held on well thereafter, giving a eood effort. DETROIT BULL, under strong restraint early, failed to respond when called upon for the stretch run. IRON BARGE set the pace for three quarters and then tired. ISOLDE, alertly ridden, went to the front early, established a clear lead and retained her advantage to the finish without need of urging. HOVER, in hand while saving ground to the stretch, came to the inside for the drive and finished resolutely, but could not menace the winner, although easily best of the others. BURNING STICK began fast, but failed to keep up during the fust half, improved his position steadily thereafter, but was unable to reach the leaders when hard urged in the drive. BAI.LOTER raced evenly without mishap. RODIA forced the pace until midway in the stretch, then tired. POESY was done early. LITTLE ABNER gave a dull effort. Overweight Hover, 3 pounds; Poesy, 1.
