Pukka Gins Starting in Derby Depends on Chesapeake Effort JAMAICA, L. I., N. Y., April 25.— Trainer Andy Schuttinger stated this morning that he would ship Pukka Gin and Hoodoo, owned by Col. C. V. Whitney, to Pimlico on Thursday to fulfill their engagements in the Chesapeake there on Saturday. Schuttinger who is still mystified by Pukka Gins showing in the Wood Memorial is to use the Chesapeake as a gauge in determining the future status of the Whitney three -year-old. "Should Pukka Gin turn in a creditable effort in the Chesapeake he will be shipped to Louisville," was the comment of the trainer. Jockey Ted Atkinson will go to Pimlico to ride the colt in the Chesapeake and should the Louisville trip materialize will then proceed to Churchill Downs. Stymie, owned by Mrs. E. D. Jacobs, is another Chesapeake candidate who will leave here for Louisville via Baltimore, Md.
