LCOS forged to the front in the BBceung eighth, drew clear as his rider pleased and was ridden out to the end. PIED PIPER raced well placed on the inside throughout, but was no match. DIRL showed good early speed, but tired gradually. BILL COGSWELL came from far back to close with a rush, although making up very little ground. BLUE DREAM broke slowly when rider appeared unprepaied and can do much better. FAIR CHARGE, after showing early speed, tired under pressure. IN TIME had some speed. ARIEL MISSION outbroke the field, was well rated while setting his own pace and was ridden out to last over DON I.IN II. The latter woiked his way into contention gradually while racing on the inside, swung out in the stretch, but could not senuusly threaten ttie winner. FETES BET forced the winners pace to the furlong pole, then tired gradually. GIRLETTE failed to rally after racing within striking distance from the start. ARAKAN pa-ised tired horses in the final quarter. CHARTER MEMBER showed nothing. APPEAL AGENT stopped badly after being unable to obtain an early advantage. SAXON PAUL, slow to settle into stride, was steadied after moving into serious contention leasing the backstretch, tallied well under pressure and gradually wore down TAGEL. TAGEL was sprinted into a commanding lead early, held sway under steadying restraint, but could not stave off the winner. THESEUS saved ground while well placed, but could not stay with the top ones in the closing furlone. FLANGE saved ground to loom dangerously in mid-stretch, only to falter badly under pressure. PHANTOM PLAYER appeared to di like the going. ASTRAL, well placed, while hard held early, went to pieces when asked for best. SIGNAL CORPS flashed speed.
