Handicapper was much the best and the issue of the race was never in doubt. Marguerite Hagemau was always in a good position and came on strongly at the finish, securing second place in a hard drive from La Vega, who was tiring at the end. He appeared likely to be the winner when at the head of the stretch. Zonne stopped badly when the finish came and seemed not to like the route. Ennomia was slow to get in her stride, but finished strongly and will do shortly in longer race6. Handicapper, place, 1 to 2; show, out. Marguerite Hageman, place, 3 to 1; show, evens. He took him back on the backstretch and I came again at the finish and won with considerable up his sleeve. Fannie Taylor came strongly at the finish and secured second placfl in a hard drive. Topmast did not seem to have any speed in the first part of the journey and Martin was of very little assistance to him. He iB a heavy headed horse and needs a strong rider to do him justice.
