NOTES OF THE TURF. The attention of owners and trainers is called to the fact that three events for the autumn meeting of the Coney Island Jockey Club close on Tuesday. August 14. They are the Woodstock Stakes to be run Tuesday. August 28 h for two-year olds, five and a half furlongs on turf: the Oriole Stakes to be run Friday, September 71. for two-year-olds, last six furlongs of New Futurity Course, and the inaugural Steeplecha-e to be run Saturday, August 25. Mr. Pierre Lorillard has decided to send Maher over to England on September 1. The horses that he intends shipping abroad will not be sent until later, and David Garrick will be among the number.
