McAddie did not run to his best form. ; Luke Ward closed strongly in the Btretch and then tired at the end. Drogheda ran prominently to the stretch under a pull, but quit when called upon. Winner— B. c. by Islington— Songstress. Went to post at-3:03. At post 4 minutes. Start bad. Won driving; second easily. The start caused El helberts defeat. When the flag went down the flelJ was all strung out. Kinley Mack also off badly, was about six lengths before him. McCue rode a pati»nt rate on the winner and 1 made his move at the right time. Ethelbert made up the lost ground gradually and seemed like I the winuer at the furlong post. He hung a trifle and then came again. Kinley Mack was doing f his best all through the last furlong. Martimas ran a g-od race and will be worth watching in a 1 little iower company. Mr. Jersey ran well for six furlongs. Charentus only showed speed for a J quarter and then dropped out of it. Rocktons race was not his true form. He was under a pull 1 to the stretch and then died away. Scratched— 19641 Bannockburn, 117 ; 19813David Garrick, 103. Kinley Mack, place. 3 to 1; show, 7 to 5. Cherries was much the best in the race although Bullman rode her out to the finish. Goddess of Night ran well. Himself beat the flag and then stumbled on the turn, was then crowded into the fence and went back to eighth position. He closed strongly in the stretch and 1 might have won but for the accident. There were no excuses for Billionaire who had things all 1 his way if he haa been good enough to win. Miss Daniels, off last, closed up a lot of ground. . The Brother had a rough journey. _.
