Wont to post at 2 :15. Off at the second break to a good start. Won easily : second and third were under keen pressure. Silurian was the best and won without an effort. Rumor has it that t he out-worked all of the other two-year-olds of Pat Dunnes. Shut Up broke well in his stride , Mud displayed a lot of speed. He stopped and came again in the stretch. Cinera improved suddenly, . and, considering the bad luck she had. she ran a good race. Kohnwreath quit badly at t the end and made a poor showing Germautown well backed, showed a Hash of early speed. Silurian, place. 6 to 5 ; show. 3 to 5. Shut Up, place, 3 to 1 ; show. 3 to 2. Pink Coat again showed his high quality He was worsted at the start I and seemed hopelessly out of it when going down the backstretch, but on the far tnrn he made a spurt and had little or no trouble in getting to the front. Star Chamber ran a good race- Boney Boy and Miss Mae Day raced each other into weariness in the first part of the race and when the [ pinch came neither had anything left to finish with. The Lady in Blue got away fully in her stride, was lucky, well 1 ridden and outgamed John A. Morris when the pinch came. The latter is a fast horse, but t posesses little or no stamina. H ilee had a rough journey. He was also all tangled up at the ■ start and generally poorly handled. Goebel ran a good race and made a strong bid at the end. Sly seems to be out of form entirely. Nobleman had no chance from where he got away. Passe p showed some speed. Scratched -197702L. T. Caton. 102. Overweights Goebel. 2 pound. The Lady in Blue, place, 4 to 1 ; show, 7 to 5. John A. Fancy Wood seemed dull of speed and hardly ran her race. Scratched -19732- Princess Tatyana, 109; 19293 Sculptress. 103 ; 19698 Fridolin, 103. Miss Bennett, place, out. Cogmoosey wheeled and broke flying and won all the way. He went lame in J the race and pulled up in bad condition on three legs. Owensboro was lucky and ran a good race. Papa Harry got into a bad jam on the first turn and was almost thrown. Otherwise he ie would have given the winner a stout argument Miss Liza made up much ground in the stretch. 11. Irish Jewel had no chance with the ride he got. Parmenion wa prominent in the first part of 31 the race but tired in the stretch and can do better. Cogmoosey, place. 4 to 5; show, 2 to 5. Winner — Ch. g, by Little Minch— Ivy Benjamin, Went to post at 5:15. Off at the first break to a good start. Won in a hard drive; second, third and fourth were doing their best. Dagmar was fit and ready, but barely lasted long enough t to win. He was all out when he hit the stretch, but hung on gamely under pressure. Dad Steele took the shortest route and had no excuses. Tim Gainey was the best and should have won with |t ease. He was bumped and jostled at every turn and never really got clear sailing until the stretch was reached, then he finished with a tremendous rush. Baird ran a fair race. So did I Nan O Kee. Tyrba was right there for the first three-quarters, but quit in the stretch. Overweights— Sorrel Rose. 3 pounds. Dagmar, place. 4 to 1 ; show, 2 to 1.
