He came all around his field at the far turn and finished with a rush on the extreme outside. He won going away. Stand Pat had all the early speed, but his efforts in the first half told when the pinch came and he tired. Sir Gallant came very fast in the last quarter and got third place in the last few strides. He was under a hard drive all the last furlong. F. G. Good was pinched off at the turn for home and went to his knees. This ruined whatever chance he had. Scratched 33343 La Mesla D., 98. The Elba came with a rush in the last sixteenth, caught Foneda tiring and got up in the last stride. Foneda would have won with jockeys reversed, she received a weak bungling ride. Alea began slowly, but came fast in the stretch and finished strongly. Curtsey, oS poorly, closad a big gap, but the effort to get up told on her at the end. Lady Berkeley pulled up lame. Easy Street was at his best today, showed plenty of speed, raced Obstinate Simon into submission and came away under a drive. Obstinate Simon was doing his best, was well handled and had no mishaps. Bean out-gamed Pretty Rosie when it came to a drive. Woodchuck showed improvement and lasted longer than usual. St. Hera was under restraint while going down the backstrotch, but was under a hard drive all through the last quarter and hung on gamely. Hinsdale ran a good race and was a contender to the furlong post but tired. Nobleman was raced to exhaustion in front and quit in the last quarter. King Galong was interfered with when Henry Gibbs fell, but came to the extreme outside at the stretch turn and finished in the good going. Verna K. stood up better than usual.
