NOTES OF THE TDRF. Capt. J. B. Clay, who bred Major Daingerfleld, has a full sister to the crack throe-year-old for which ho has declined a long price. T. H. Stevens, who bred Wyeth, the Derby winner, has a sister to Wyeth which he also values highly. Both big stake winnows were bred within fifteen miles of each other. Martin Doyle, Paris, Ky., has lost the brood mare Thistle, bay, foaled 1890, by Himyar Aetna, by Monarchist. Thistle was the dam of Doyles Commoner. Mr. Doyle has also sold to H. K. Knapp, of New York, tho yearling colt by Sir Walter Melody. R. L. Baker, Lexington, Ky., has purchased from R. M. Fisher, Danville, Ky., the yearling bay colt by Scorpion Louise Lee, and the bay yoarling colt by Scorpion Linderletto. At Fort Erie, yesterday, tho steeplechaser Klon-dyko II. broke a leg while being schooled and was destroyed.
