LOCAL TURF GOSSIP. Henry McDaniel, trainer for G. C. Bennett, will leave next week for Buffalo, N. Y., with several of the latters horses, including Aladdin and Little Scout. Steve LHommedieu, who was reported as having won heavily on the victory of Brigadier at Harlem, said yesterday when he heard that Brigadier was matched against Jack Rattlin, that if the horses were to run on one of the local tracks he would bet ,000 or as much moro that Brigadier will prove the winner. Rag Tag, which won the last race, was bid up to 05, an advance of 05 over bis entered price, and retained by his owner. Fred Cooks recent acquisition, the two-year-old Mirance, is reported to be dangerously sick, with small chance for recovery. Cook purchased the horse only recently from " Pa" Bradley.
