Louis Wagner ran a good race, was vigorously ridden and finished gamely. Cerro Santa showed speed, but stopped in the run home and will probably do presently. Kiss Quick, off in a tangle and twice cut off, came fast in the stretch. Travers, off badly, began slowly, but closed up ground fast and seemed to be winning easily an eighth out, when McCann grew overconfident and eased him up. . He got busy when Louis Wagner and Kiss Quick came along, but it was too late. Mada Bell tired. Sweat Dream can do better. So can Fugurtha. Overweights Mada Bell, l pound ; Fugurtha, 1. Maghoni came fast through the stretch, won going away and was well ridden. Floyd K. began slowly, but finished fast and might have won had not Maghoni somewhat interfered with him in the run home. Won driving: second easily. Verify was the best horse and as Mr. Van Studdiford gallops his uncles horses he had an advantage. He laid away a bit too long and had to drive hard to get up. He never was under pressure at any stave of it. Satin Coat ran a good -race and finished well. Helen Print showed speed, but is short. She would probably have won with good racing luck. Federalist ran his race. Bab was given a very easy ride. Hoar got her off badly and never made a move oh her. Throw this race out for her. Tickfnl got off in a tangle and ran a bad race. Reducer can do better. The race was a bad one outBide of the first three. Bab, Tickful, Navarino and Reducer did not show their true form. Captain Gaines was taken back and rated to the stretch, then came on and won as his rider pleased. Flop ran and finished well. Lofter was made over much use of. rushed off his stride and generally mismanaged. The judges warned Beauchamp before the race, and the result was that the horse, which likes to run from behind, was tiptoed off his stride. Tros ran a good race, but tired.
