THE PBEAKNESS SALE. The yearlings from James Galways Preakness 8tnd, R. H. McCarter Potters Pequest Stud and others, the property of various owners, wore sold in the Fasig-Tipton companys paddocks at Sheeps head Bay Monday. The bidding was lively and the prices were good. The bay colt by Belvidere Crotchet, a half brother to Crocket, a winner of twenty-seven races, went for the highest price, ,200, C. R. Ellison outbidding H. M. Ziegler, H. McCarren and J. J. Marklein. The sale of the Pot-tor lot caused some surprise, as it waB announced a day or two ago that he had changed his mind about disposing of his yearlings. The best price in his lot was ,050. give, by H. M. Ziegler for the colt by Flambeau Patience. Just before the sale came to a close auctioneer Easton announced that on Friday next the entire racing stable of J. B. Haggin would bo sold at auction in the paddocks.
