Won easily; second the same. Golden Rule ran a remarkable race. All entangled at the start he made up ground fast after the first eighth had been run and gradually wore the field down, winning easily. St. Cuthbert was under keen pressure all through the last quarter. Elsie L. finished strongly. Pretorius tired when the pinch came. Rubus, off flying, ran a dull race. Belle Graham displayed keen speed and held Lyman Hay safe all through the last eighth. The latter was under keen pressure all through the last eighth, but the winner was too good for him. Mary Glenn showed improvement, finishing strongly. Frank Rice showed early speed. Oer Land and Sea swerved badly from the center of the track to the inside rail in the last sixteenth. Stom Winder tired when the pinch came after showing much speed. Early tired badly in the last sixteenth struggle. Bad News ran well for five and a half furlongs. The latter was cut off badly in the last seventy-five yards. Ravensbury tired slightly in the closing strides. Hayward Hunter was the victim of an incompetent ride. Scratched 35034 The Caxton, 101.
