GOSSIP OF THE TURF. W. C. Whitneys famous fillies, Blue Girl and Morningside, are to be retired to the stud at La Belle. They were shipped to Lexington, Ky., Wednesday along with Imp and Lady Schorr, owned by J. E. Madden, which will go to the latters breeding establishment at Hamburg Place. Blue Girl last year was one of the best two-year-olds in training. She was a rich stake winner, but suffered, during the winter from the attack of influenza that infected Mr. Whitneys stable at Westbury. Blue Girl is a full sister to Blues, being sired by Sir Dixon-Bonnio Blue II. Morningside also has been a good winner, but this year, like Blue Girl, she -has been a disappointment. She is a four-year-old mare by Meddler Sunnyside.
