THREE PROMISING TWO-YEAR-OLDS. At the Long Island tracks are three notable two-year-olds which are expected to cut a figure in the capture of important stakes this year. One of them la a half brother to Gunfire, a colt by Yankee Royal Gun, who was purchased last summer, at the sale of John E. Maddens yearlings, by Oscar Lewi-sohn for ,000. This youngster is in the care of John J. Hyland and has a long list of engagements. Another coming star is a full brother to the 0,000 Nasturtium, which will run In Newton Benningtons colors. He has been named The Mikado and is owned by James B. Haggin, from whom Bennington purchased his racing qualities last season for ,500. The third crack is a sou of Bassetlaw Cloister, named Joe Fallert, who is the property of W. C. Fessenden, the man who pulled off a couple of notable "killings" with Pass Book. This colt Is credited with the most sensational yearling trial shown last fall, when with fair weigljt up he covered a quarter in 23 seconds. Fessenden has already refused ,000 for him.
