Blue Dale was at home in the going, outbroke his opponents when the start came and. opening up a winning lead on the far turn, Nicol had him well in hand all of the last furlong. Black Flag ran out on the turn out of the backstretch. but made up the lost ground, finishing fast and is improving right along. Little George began slowly, but ran a smart race and is worth remembering. Beau Brnnimel seemed unable to extend himself in the going. Arthur Rosenfield got away mixed up and is a bad breaker. Free Booter broke well in motion, raced Casclne to defeat in the first three furlongs, opened up a winning lead while rounding the turn into the homestretch and was eased up all through the last furlong. Kleinwood began slowly, hut made up a lot of ground while rounding the far turn and finished fast. Limerick Girl saved ground on the turn for home and outlasted Bazil when it came to the final drive. Cascine showed speed and was eased up when hebegan to tire. Baron Esher bled. Bazil ran well. The latter ran a good race on his own courage, Harrigan having all he could do to hold blm to-"gether and keep hlin from sprawling." "Mint Boj was much the liest horse and ran a winning race, was crowded hack on the backstretch and again on the far turn, where he. lost a half dozen lengths, came very wide when entering the homestretch and finished going fast. Monaeodor broke well In motion and raced Lucy Young into subjection in the first half and had something in reserve when Garnish challenged in the last furlong. Daly rode a bungling race on the latter, which was interfered witli a couple of times aud when he moved up on the turn for home, he came wide, but finished fast and ran in improving form. Lucy Young showed speed, but tired in the stretch and Is best with light weight up. Falkland ran well. Sir Andrew showed early speed, but quit badly. Little James made a show of his opponents, broke witli the leaders and raced Miss Layman and Apple Sweet to defeat In the first quarter, drew away on tha far turn and was cantering at the finish. Southampton was well up with the leaders the entire trip and came widest on the Jurn for home, but finished with a rush. Miss Layman ran next to the inside rail all the way and was tiring at the end and driving to the limit to stall off Henry of Trastamare. The latter finished with a rush on the outside. Thistle Do ran well, but was driving to the limit at the end to stall off Goldic. The latter slipped through next to the inside rail when entering the homestretch and finished fast and gaining. Daring showed speed, but quit in the last quarter and Is raced inconsistently. Elliott dropped out of contention in the first quarter and could never get up. Girard ran on the outside of the leaders until well around the stretch turn, then raced Woggle Bug into retirement and drew away without much effort in the stretch. Spendthrift Helen began slowly, but finished with a rush after going wide on the turn into the homestretch. Creel finished well and outgamed Woggle Bug in the final drive. Last Cherry had a rough trip and was cut off a couple of times, but ran a poor race. Marimbo got away tangled up and then took the long route. America II. went fairly well.
