Menden put up a game, but unavailing effort ami was a lucky second. John N. Sheehan is promising, got away well and ran a fast and game race. Eiota, away tlatfooted and shuffled, quickly to the rear, closed a big gap, but finished Fecurely pocketed on the inside behind Menden. Kogo got away poorly and finished well. Captain Burnett, after strenuous early pursuit of the leader, wore him down at the end of a long stretch drive. Libertinus, very fast, but a non-stayer, showed great earlv speed, but quit at the end. Aidion finished well. Etapa made up ground from an indifferent start. Commodore Eastland retired early. Ratio was frequently interfered with and away poorlv. Bill Perry showed good early speed. . Lilierto. poorly handled and messed alout, finished close up. Byron Uose ran forwardly for six furlongs. Sacredus got away very badly and can do better. Rose Eley showed superior early speed, but tired and is best in mud. Bird of Passage was knocked out on the first turn. Royal Red is better in mud also. Phaon, suddenly improved, closed a big gap from a poor start and challenged gamely at the end. Dr. Shorb, on the Inside all the way and close up, was securely pocketed in the last sixteenth or he would have won. Henry Luehr-mami Jr., shut off in the stretch, finished an eased up fourth. Jolly Witch again failed to stay. Royal White loomed up well on the last turn. Canejo and Goldiield both suffered from crowding at the start. Barr, nearly left, closed an immense gap and ran a remarkable race. Kquorum Rex. badly outpaced in the early running, made up a lot of ground in the last half and was going like a cyclone at the end. Nagazam leisurely pursued the winner for the first half well in hand and quit badly when called in the closing drive, was either short or ailing and ran a bad. race. Lisaro displayed superior speed and stamina throughout.
