Saulsberry. evidently favored by the going, followed Kings Gem closely to the stretch, where he assumed the lead with ease and was never in danger thereafter. Kings Gem, away running and clear of interference, showed much speed, but tired after going three-quarters. Buxom suffered from early interference and ran a good race. John McBride, away in a tangle and forced to go wide on the first turn, closed a big gap and ran a winning, race. Shunpike ran poorly, although meeting with Interference. Pepper and Salt showed line speed and lasted well in the final drive. Glad Pirate had no mishaps and about ran his race. Saiurida showed Improvement. Luretta showed good speed, but seemingly did not like the going overmuch and tired badly. Harmakis closed a big gap and finished going fast. Phil Finch dropped back unexpectedly in the first three-eighths, then closed a big gap steadily, but was weakly handled, sprawled on several "occasions anil was forced to suffer defeat and, better bandied, might have won. Bitter Hand, badly ridden, dropped out of contention in the first half, but closed up resolutely thereafter aud, better handled, would have finished much closer up. Legatee was right there all the way and stood a hard drive well through the final quarter. Dolinda tired In the final drive, but ran a good race. Wedgwood was badly ridden and ran a bad race. Depends had no mishaps. Colonist was kept too far out of the running in the early stages and suffered from interference when aliout to make his run. JTCvie Greene tired badly in the last quarter. .Mahogany can do better.
