COLONEL A. F. WALCOTTS FUNERAL. New York, March 1. The funeral of Colonel A. F. Walcott, the veteran turfman, was held at the Church of the Ascension at 10 oclock this morning and the body was taken to Say brook. Conn., the boyhood home of the deceased, for interment. Colonel Walcott died Monday night of pneumonia. He made his fortune in Cadifornia after the war. At one time lie was worth ,000,000. He organized the Fairfax Stable and In 1SS7 had a great season with James Uowe as trainer and Fltzpatrick. as jockey. Shortly afterward the fortune of Colonel Walcott was swept away by a slump in the markets. He recuperated his finanaces, however, and in the AOs was associated "with it. It.
