TWO WEEKS MORE RACING AT ASCOT PARK. Los Angeles, Cal., March 2. It was officially announced today that the meeting at Ascot Park will close on" March 17, instead of March 11, as originally scheduled. The directors of the Los Angeles Jockey Club reprimanded the horsemen who filed the charges against General Manager J. W. Brooks, but the form was sull.ciontly mild to create an Impression generally that Mr. Brooks will not take the case Into the" courts, as he Intimated he might do. J. A. Wernberg left here tonight for New York. His horses will follow him shortly. He will procure a trainer to succeed J. J. McCafferty and the horses will be raced on the New York tracks. The horses In the stable of C. E. Durnell will probably be sold at auction when they reach New York.
