Cottage Maid showed good speed, but tired in the last seventy yards. Sneer ran poorly. Miss Martha showed fine form and Improvement, gaining steadily on the leaders and was going fast at the end. Mary Welch ran a poor race and may dislike mud. Game Bird can do much lietter. Charley Thompson forced a fast pace in the early stages, seamed badly beaten after going three-quarters but. under strong handling, outgamed Proteus. The latter, ridden with poor judgment, was excessively used and tired when called on for the final effort. Kittle Piatt rah a poor race. Concert stumbled just before rounding the first turn, showed a fair flash of speed, but tired badly in the last three furlongs. Anadarco forced the early running, stayed well in the final drive and ran a good lace. Aggie Lewis broke from the outside and lost much ground by going wide for- the entire trip, was weakly handled at the end and. probably was best.
