Bona was third in the procession throughout. Scamper, away very badly, closed a gap. Grace Van S., looking hog fat, had no chance at the start. AVoolen was palpably short. Buchanan broke slowly and was given an anxious and ill-judged ride and was taken to the deep going on the inside to subdue Judge and was unprepared for the winners challenge at the end. Qulcknch displayed brilliant speed for the first half and then held on gamely in the closing drive. Judge, staling off, showed plenty of speed, but tired badly at the end.
