TROUBLES OF JOCKEY HILDEBRAND. New York, June 20. It is understood that Eugene Ilildebrand, the Jockey who is under contract to the Whitney stable, has been practically set down by trainer Rogers. There was a story in circulation at the track yesterday to the effect that Mr. Whitney asked Rogers why Ilildebrand was not permitted to ride. Rogers replied, so the story goes, that the boy had not been taking proper care of himself and that he had been sent to Buffalo to get himself In proper condition by accepting mounts there. Ilildebrand is now anxious to ride on the local tracks, it is said, and declares that he is tit, but Rogers has made up his mind that the jockey cannot wear the light blue jacket and brown cap until the Saratoga meeting at the earliest. It will not be at all surprising, under the circumstances. If Hlldebrnud asks for his release from the Whitney stable. He is receiving his salary regularly, but he wants to show metropolitan patrons that lie is not a back number.
