BAIN AND HAILSTORM AT KENILW0RTH. Change in Track Conditions Rough on the Talent Dugan Has a Lucky Escape. Buffalo, N. y., June 2!. A terrific rain and hailstorm, which burst over Kenilworth Park shortly before the opening race, sent the racers through a river of slop and slush for the remainder of the day. The suddenly changed track conditions upset form calculations and but one favorite connected with the long end of the purse. Jockey W. Dugan had a spectacular escape from serious Injury In the fourth race, in which he had the mount on J. . Keenes Triumphant. The olt ran to the extreme outside on the stretch bend and, before his rider could control him, hail dashed into the fence. The boy turned a complete Hoinersault over the rails, landing on his hands and knees, but other than a plentlfnl covering of mud, escaped without Injury. This was not the end of Dugans circus feats for the afternoon for In the closing race the saddle on Perry McAdow slipped around to the horses side and Dugan brought him home bareback, a stunt for which he was loudly cheered after he returned to the winners circle to be weighed In. Steeplechase jockey Graham was today denied the further privilege of riding here by the stewards for a questionable looking ride on Wild Kange, which won his last race under the guidance of Frank llueston. Barney Schrelber, who went to New York a day or two ago, is understood to have received ii Mattering offer for his colt Jack Atkins and has gone there to close the deal. W. C. Percy of New York, has succeeded Joseph A. Murphy as one of the stewards at Kenilworth. Little Koerner, who has been riding here wit.i a great deal of success, rode his last race as an apprentice yesterday. W. J. Youug. Riggs, secretary of the Maryland Jockey Club and vice president of the Montreal Jockey Club, was a visitor at Kenilworth today.
