Melbourne Nominee ran lapped on the pacemaker to the last few strides, then he forged ahead on the extreme outside. Ancestor, from a flying start, made the running, boring out for the entire journey and tired right at the end. Lady Ellison, practically left, closed a big gap and was much the best. Sir Caruthers ran forwardly throughout and was favored by the going. Lady Valentine was also prominent for six furlongs. Araho finished swerving all over the course. Pauique tired badly. Enverlte went well and is worth remembering. The race was a jumble throughout. Scratched C2909 Varletes, 100; 03191 Adbell, 103; C3118 Amberjack, 103; 03044 Dr. Royal, 100. Brookdale Nymph at once jumped into the lead and won all the way under a pull. Bohemia liked the going and ran a remarkably fast and game race at the weights. Jersey Lady outbroke the others and led throughout, gamely standing off all stretch ehalleuges. Toddles, away slowly and outpaced in the early running, loomed up like the winner when beginning the last furlong, but tired unexpectedly right at the end aud was palpably handicapped by the going. Fantastic liked the going and closed up resolutely at the end. Barlngo got away poorly and was gaining rapidly at the end under the whip. First Mason was carried wide on the first turn, but overhauled the pacemaker on the last turn and won out with a rush through the stretch. Garnish made the running for nearly a mile before he succumbed and was easily second best. Ormondes Right sulked all the way, but was an easy third. Water Tank was badly outclassed and never dangerous at any stage. Oliver Cromwell ran a very had race. Solly M., with an advantageous inside position, maintained close pursuit of the pacemaker to the last turn, where he joined him and won out at the end of a remarkably game stretch drive. Frank Lord, in forward contention throughout, finished gamely and Just failed to get up under a weak finish. Ben Strong, nway badly, improved his position steadily and was closing up with a whirlwind rush at the end. Judge Davey ran on the outside of several horses on the turn, losing a lot of ground, but finished a close up and fast going fourth. Curriculum, from a flying start, forced the pace t the stretch, where lie tired and can do better. Clements was shuttled to the rear in the early running, being unable to keep pace with the leaders. Al Powell got off badly and had scant chance with a poor rider. Monfort was boring out from the start and ran a bad race. Scratched 031 CG Wood witch, 94; 03113 Jaunty, 104; 023C9 Sam Rice, 102. Overweights Solly M., 3 pounds.
