Zlenap, lucky at the start and skillfully reserved within striking distance of the pacemakers foe the first live furlongs, overhauled them fast in the stretch, drew out right at the end and is in rnre form. Sanfara helped to force a fast early pace with the lightly weighted Firebrand and tired in the last furlong of a game effort. Belle of Pequcst got away slowly and. was outpaced in the early running, closed up swiftly on the last turn and in the stretch, but could never get up. Sllckaway ran forwardly throughout and finished a game and close up fourth. Lord of the Forest was never dangerous and ran a comparatively poor race. Calabasli went moderately well and is improving. Governor Haley got away very badly, but closed a big gap. Firebrand raced with the favorite at a terrific clip to the stretch, where he quit badly. Champs Elysees was badly messed about mid ridden a waiting race right behind the leaders, was frequently interfered with and. also ran into the post on the first turn, made good, however, on the flat and was much the best. Waterford took up the running at the end. of the first mile and showed the way to the stretch on sufferance only, but easily saved second place. Pirate, seemingly badly outpaced for the first mile and a half, came along steadily and earned third place. Allegiance made the running for a mile at a slow pace and was unequal to the sprinting for the remainder of the journey with the leaders and ran a bad race. Altuda, from, a good start, maintained strenuous, but unavailing, pursuit of the winner and held second place safe all the way. Dulcinea, also favored at the start, ran forwaroly all the way, ganiely earning a, lucky third. , Clara Huron tired in the closing drive after a superior display oi euily eed. Killaloe. nearly left and badly messed, about, closed an immense gap and was easily second liest. Glamor also suffered from crowding at the start and nearly fell, but made up ground and showed improved btamlna. The others were beaten off and nearly left at the post. Merry Lark closely and leisurely followed Fustian to the last turn, where he forged into the lead and came on to win easing up. Disobedient, a fast breaker and In forward contention throughout, came along fast and earned second place in decisive style and showed a glimpse of his best form. Red Leaf, badly outpaced in the early running, finished with a belated rush and will show to better advantage over a longer distance. Fustian displayed brilliant early speed, but quit badly after a sharp brush with the favorite. Tongorder, never dangerous, failed to stay in the closing drive. Yorkshire Lad is in grand form, but was badly messed about, practically forced the pace and turned for home rinder a pull, but a weak finish beat him. Woolwich, in close pursuit of the leaders from the start, was shut off several times and going as fast as the winner at the end and is very game. Macy Jr., nearly left, closed an immense gap under a bad ride. Cholk Hedrick essayed to set the pace and for nearly six furlongs showed plenty of speed, but failed to stay. Samuel II. Harris ran prominently for seven furlongs, but was carried out and serlouslyhampered all the way and ran as if short. Ebony, sore and nearly left, made up a lot of ground. Smiling Tom, shuffled to the rear and nearly left, closed an enormous gap, was much the best and probably is a coming crackerjack over a long distance of ground. Hyperbole ran forwardly throughout, but finished swerving all over the stretch, or she would have been third. Old Honesty, shut off at the start, was unable to hold his position early under punishment, but was gaining steadily in the last quarter and can do better.
