Gallithea was outrun for the first three furlongs, but wore down the leaders while rounding into the homestretch and outstayed Prairie Flower II. In the final drive. Prairie Flower II. sprinted to the front n the backstretch and set the pace fast, but had nothing left to stall off the winners challenge. Broadway Girl ran well, but tired in the stretch run and just managed to last long enough to beat out Chief Deputy. The latter finished gamely. Manfred broke slowly and was crowded out of any chance. Miss Cesarion sprinted into a winning lead in the first furlong and easily held the others safe all the way. Mary Custis was outrun for the first half, but closed up under a drive in the last quarter and outstayed Fleeting Star. The latter was speedy, but was used up In following the fast pace set by the winner. Limited could never Improve her position and was on the outside all the way. Moccasin acted badly at the post and threw his head up when the barrier was released. Black Flag showed speed, but failed to stay. Corrected Weights Miss Cesarion, 10C. The latter came again in the stretch run and finished wearing the winner down. Cardigan came fast in the last quarter. Sartor Resartus fenced well and showed much speed for the first time around, but tired in the last half. Peter Becker bolted out of the course at the first jump. Amber pulled up very lame. Suzanne Rocamora was waited. with until straightened out for the final run, then moved vp fast under a drive and shook off Mag Nolin in the last furlong. Mag Nolin began quickly and sprinted to the front on the first turn and set a fast pace for sis furlongs, but tired in the stretch. Reticent finished with a rush. Dolinda was sore in his warm-up, made a good challenge on the turn into the homestdetch, where he moved up on the inside, but tired under a drive. Fire Alarm swerved to the Inside under punishment and cut off Hattie Dodson and was tiring at the end. Excuse Me broke slowly, but went to the leaders,, with rush on the far turn, was on the outside all the way and lost ground by making a wide turn into the homestretch, but stood a" drive In game fashion. Hattie Dodson was in a pocket most of the way and was interfered with a counle of times. Zanliss was cut oft" on the turn out of the backstretch, forcing her rider to pull up. NIoless finished resolutely on the extreme outside. Jack Adams began slowly and was outrun In the early stages, but moved up on the turn Into tlia homestretch and, finishing with a rush, squeezed in between the leaders in the last fifty yards and just managed to get up in the final stride. F. E. Shaw outbroke the others and set a fast pace, raced Sheen Into exhaustion, but the effort told on him in the stretcii run and he tired. Sunny Brook ran the best race of all, was crowded back at the start and had to work his way up on the outside, closed a big gep and was going the fastest at the finish. Sheen quit when Hunter drew ills whip. Demurrer pulled up lame.
