Belle Strome, suddenly improved and forwardly placed from the start, drew into a long and decisive lead when straightened for home. Toacress got away slowly, hut closed up quickly and finished with a rush. Toots Jlook broke flatfooted and was pocketed on the inside and forced to pull up, was badly messed about and swerving all over the track, but should have been second and was -probably short. Suffice finished well. Graceful, away poorly, made up considerable ground. Bribery came fast from the rear after getting off poorly. Bivouac showed early speed and tired as If short. Bertha E. was sore and unfit to start and as good as left. Klllkare made the early running and when she fell a sixteenth out was In second place. Cary, suddenly improved, pursued Oiseau closely from the start and finally wore him down after a long and gamely contested stretcii drive. Oiseau made the running hard held for six furlongs and finally succumbed to the winners persistent efforts, seemed beaten for second place, but came again and held Celeres safe. The latter showed great Improvement, always maintained a good position and finished unexpectedly well. Amberjack ran moderately well. Holscher, pulled up at the start and nearly left, closed up a lot of ground and finished easing up. Aucassln and Burnett showed early speed. Agile seems entirely out of form. Pope Joan broke flatfooted on the inside, but rushed through in a jiffy and established a long lead, winning off cantering and palpably outclassed the others. Paumonok had a flying start and clear sailing in an outside nosltion and leisurely trailed the winner home into an easy second place. Sir William Johnson, shut off at the start and outpaced for the first half, drew out of the ruck in the stretch Into a fast going third and shows steady Improvement. Fusilade ran forwardly for five furlongs and is promising. Hickory was closing up well at the end. Vinton, nearly left, closed a big gap. Sandy Creeker showed orilliant early speed, but tired badly and finished pulled up. Inquisitor, from a flying start, injudiciously made the running and, when challenged on the List tnrn, was squeezed back, but came again and got up in the last stride for second place. Kiamesha, skillfully reserved behind the pacemaker, passed him on the last turn and engaged in a hard stretch battle with Dandelion, with the result that she tired right at the end and lost out for second money. Dolly Spanker, seemingly badly outpaced In the early running, closed up well in the stretch. Von Tramp, after trailing, also finished gaining rapidly in the last quarter. Belle of Jessamine displayed amazing speed, establishing a wide gap in a twinkling and, when challenged by the ultimate winner in the last half, started to run out on the turns and eventually lost out by inches, is very fast and can also beat much better ones. Bob Edgren held a lucky fcrward position throughout and finished well. Fatlnltza, away poorly and frequently shut off and badly messed about, closed a big gap in the last half, nuddy also suffered at the start and held on moderately welL Singlelife was sore and as good as left, closed a big gap in the middle running and then tired.
