Hatasoo, Reina and other good ones, is at Saratoga as a spectator. Martin Nathanson has about: completed the program for the first two weeks at Douglas Park. The feature of the opening day will be a handicap with ,000 added. George Saportas says he has little hope of getting Cliamps Elysees to the post again. Gregg seriously enough to predict that at the next session of the New York Legislature the law that permits betting at the track will be wiped out and that an act making betting on a horse race a felony will be passed. "While Horace E. is a beautifully propotioned colt, there is something about his ankles and pasterns that I do not fancy," remarked a horseman at Saratoga. "From what I have seen of the candidates in the stable of Mr. Keene I do not think he needs to fear this Missouri-bred youngster." The New York Sun says the case against jockey Romanelll "looks like a very plain one and It will bs a great surprise if Romanelll does any riding for some years to come." The Morning Telegraph suggests that the stewards now go after the person or persons who Instigated the faulty ride on New Mown Hay. Paumoriok gets his name from the Paumonok Clnb of Brooklyn. Newton Bennington Is a member of that club. He told his clubmates last winter that the son of Watercress and Braw Lass was the most highly tried of his yearlings. They asked him to name the youngster for their club. Paumonok has not made good as yet.
