Omar Khayyam rushed to the .front soon after the start, held his opponents safe at all stages of the trip and was only cantering at the end. Merllene showed speed, but was much used in keeping pace with the winner ana tired under punishment. Minnie J. raced fonvardly throughout and was a keen contender all the way. Left Guard ran a winning race, got caught In a jam and was crowded back; but finished fast. Brick lop ran well. Gold Girl showed speed. Scratched 03510 W. W. Pierce, 102. Lazell was sore in his warm-up and outrun to the homestretch, but wore the tiring Sharp Boy down in the last furlong. The latter ran a fast three-quarters. Restoration broke slowly and was in a pocket until on the turn out of the bnckstretch, then moved up fast and wore Poster Girl down in the stretch run and outgamed her at the end. Poster Girl raced for-wardly throughout and went to Miss Martha with a rush when straightened out in the homestretch, but had nothing left when the winner caught her. Miss Martha forced a fast pace for the ilrst hr.lf, but tired. Moonvlne was crowded back at the start. Miss Lida, sharply cut off, was pulled up and finished with a rush after swinging to the extreme outside on the turn into the homestretch. Poster had a rough journey, was crowded into the fence and pulled up lame. Garrett Wilson, next to the inside rail, got the best of the start, carried Fair Calypso along at a terrific pace for the first six furlongs and drew away at the end. Fair Calypso broke from the extreme Inside, went to the leader with a rush and ran alongside of him all the way, but tired under punishment at the end. Prestige saved ground all the way and Mulshed fast. Reuben ran the best race of all, was forced back at Hie start, but closed up fast after making a wide turn into the homestretch. Bell-the-Cat rated along in the middle of the bunch until on the turn for home, then came with a great burst of speed and just managed to get up In the last stride. Hanovw Hornpipe ran in behind Old Hal In the run down the backstretch and moved up in the last half mile, but tired in the final strides as if short. Vestryman ran the best race of all, was practically left, but went after the others and, closing a tremendous gap. finished fast and gaining.
