Beggar Maid decisively outbroke, outpaced and outstayed her opponents, may be a coming good one and looks it. Mintberia, away slowly, closed up steadily and, going like a shot, got up for second place in the last stride. Eudora broke well and maintained strenuous pursuit of the winner, but coidd never get up and, easing up at the end, her rider was caught napping for second place. Lucy Marie, nearly left, closed an immense gap and finished with a remarkable end rush. Dele Strome, shuffled to the rear arly and working through close quarters, finished like a whirlwind. Baringo, a slow beginuer, got away poorly and was forced to run around on the outside and had no chance. Winsome Ways, a grand looker, got away very badly and closed a big gap. Furze is a good looker. Revenue was cut down. The last four at the start were virtually left. Scratched 14018 Sally K., 98; C4138Anna May, 09. Onieora kept within trailing distance of the leader in the early running, moved up in the last half and ranged alongside on the flat, where he outstayed him In the closing drive. Maxmilian made the running by a wide gap, but lost a lot of ground and eventually the race by several costly blunders at the jumps was easily best, but poorly ridden. Oleroso ran a distant third throughout. Patagonian could not get up a respectable gallop. Penarrls, from a good start, maintained close pursuit of the pacemaker iu the early running and wore him down in the stretch, drawing out in decisive style right at the end, was much the best and Is fast and a stayer. Aletheuo, from a flying start, made the running very easilv until straightened for homo, tiring badly in the closing drive. Don Enrique, poorly handled and losing ground at a critical moment on the last tnrn, finished fast, would have been second in another stride and is a good colt Superman got away badly and closed up gamely throughout, but ran far below his best form. Golf Ball, badly outpaced for the first half, finished unexpectedly well. Chaseawuy, a slow beginner, lost much ground at the s tart and steadily improved his position, hut was never dangerous. Charles G. Gates went well for five furlongs. Flint Hill broke and ran green and was hopelessly outpaced all the way. lOl Q FOURTH RACE-1 3-16 Miles. 1:59-3-99. 00 added. 3-year-olds and upward. Sailor Boy ran forwanlly and gamely throughout, showing fine stamina. All three placed horses were lucky, however. Geranium raced into an injudiciously long lead and set a terrific pace and Mohawk II was in nearest pursuit. Both moved up together ami raced away from the others on the last turn, but bumping repeatedlv through the stretch and tired at the end, but should have run first and second. Kditli James closed up steadily throughout Into a fast going third. Court Martial had a very rough journey and then finished close up. General Haley again failed to stay after setting a hot pace for over sis furlongs. Mollie Donohue ran in close pursuit of the pacemaker, but tired at the end of five furlongs. Lancastrian, practically left, closed an immense gap. Calabash showed unexpected early speed for him and can do better. Brookdale Nymph is in wonderful form, indulged Comedienne with the lead until straightened for home, where she passed her as If she was anchored, but was suddenly forced to a drive to stall off Sir Lynne-woods belated end rush. The latter was outpaced for nearly six furlongs, but closed up rapidly in the stretch and finished boring out, but going fastest of all. Comedienne made the running to the stretch, where she tired under inadequate handling and ran a good race. Bohemia was sent along from the start In an effort to hold a forward position and tired badly after going six furlongs. Grazlallo showed improved form, but was not good enough here.
