NEW SOUTH WALES HAS A SANE LAW. A cablegram from Sydney, New South Wales, under date of August 30, says: "A radical anti-gaming and betting, bill, which was passed by the assembly of New South Wales today, prohibits betting in clubs, shops, or street, and the publication of betting in newspapers before the events. While not rendering illegal betting on racecourses and grounds devoted to sports, it empowers the proprietor to remove bettors and restricts the number of race meetings."
