VANDERBILT BUYS YEARLINGS IN FRANCE. At a recent sale of yearlings in France, a colt named. Poor Boy, by Perth, out of Philoe, brought 3,200, the highest price of the year in that country. The purchaser was S. B. Joel. At the same sale W. K. Vanderbilt gave 1,200 for Monta-valle, a colt by St. Damien, out of Marcia, the dam of Maintenon, which has carried Mr. Vandcrbilts colors with such success this season. The same gentleman also gave ,S00 for Sea Sick, a strong-looking colt by Elf, out of Saf-Saf by Le Sancy, and ,800 for Gambalseuil, a colt by St. Damien, out of Gracleuse. The chief, honors of the sales have been for St. Damien, which is now one of the most popnlar stallions in France.
