COULDNT STAND THE HOLD UP. Ort Wells, of Chicago, Charles Gates and two ladies were passing down Broadway iu Saratoga one night recently. The attention of Ort Wells was attracted to a colored photograph of the Advance Stakes of 1904, showing Bryn Mawr. Ort Wells and nighball racing together. Mr. Wells, because of the sentimental recollections of the once great horse named after him, said to the man in charge: "How. much for that picture?" "Twenty-live dollars," was th answer." "Ill take it," said Mr. Wells. "Beg pardon, its price is fifty dollars," said the storekeeper. "Nothing doing," said Mr. Wells, and the group sauntered on, laughing.
