Don Fonso began slowly, but ran forwardly to the stretch turn, wore down the leaders in the stretch and got up in the final stride. Sunny Brook was a keen contender all the way. but tired after racing Rubaiyat into subjection. Rubaiyat forced a fast pace, raced Miss Leeds into defeat and had nothing left when the deciding drive came. Gallithea ran a good race from a bad beginning. Teddy showed a flash of speed, then quit. Fleeting Star wore-down Sweet Kitty in the first half and withstood the determined challenge of Josephine E. and outgamed her to the finish. The latter was always a fast and keen contender and finished resolutely. Golden Pheasant ran forwardly throughout and outgamed Bathmaria for third place. The latter had no mishaps. Toots Mook carried Charlie Eastman along at a terrific pace and the two ran as a team all through the stretch. Swain outfinishing Hogg at the finish. Rebounder set a fast pace, raced Reticent into defeat in the first three-quarters and tired in the final strides. Scalp-lock was cut off on the first turn and again on the bnekstrefch and finished fast, but could never get to the leaders. Retloent quit in the stretch run. Tanager finished fast and gamely and, better ridden, would have won. Moonvine hung on gamely, but tired badly in the stretch run. Jacotno had no mishaps. The others were always outrun. Conde was in keen contention, but was not good enough to get to the winner. Oleasa made up ground and finished fast.- St. Noel and Marquis de Carabas were crowded back at the start. Goodman showed early speed, but quit in the stretch run. George Perry ran a good race. Sonnet and Frank Collins can do much better. Overweights Frank Collins, 5 pounds; Comment. 31: Attraction. 2. d. The latter set a fast pace all the way, but Schaller was of little help to her when the final drive came. Nat B. hung on gamely, but tired in the stretch run and barely outlasted The Borglan for third place. The latter ran a bad race and ican do much better.
