LEADING TRAINERS OF THE SEASON. In the matter of winners saddled during the first eight months of racing in 1006, Billy Garth, the Virginia trainer, heads the list. Mr. Garth began with the opening of the season at Benuings in March and it was at the Washington track and at Pimllco that he got the bulge on his felVw trainers. But in the matter of money won by the winners Saddled, Jimmy Rowe, who handles the horses of James R. Keene, bus the lead. Since the opening of the season in the east, which was in April. Mr. Rowe has sent to the post the winners of twenty-one races and they have earned together with the twenty-nine seconds and twenty-nine thirds over 00,000. A. J. Joyner, who saddled forty-five winners this year, ranks second in the matter of money won. He has the horses of Sydney Paget, some of those belonging to August Belmont and E. R. Thomas and some of his own. His total of winnings is not much bo-low the 00,000 mark. Fred Hanlon, who handles the horses of Pat Dunne, has made a better showins than any other western trainer, ne is second on the list with fifty-five winners. Herman Brandt, who U in charge of the main division of Barney Schreib-ers stable, is third.
