TORONTO TO HAVE A SPORTING MEETING. Toronto Ont., September 24. The Toronto Hunt proposes to hold a sporting meeting on October 18 and 20. An application has been made to the On-trio Jockey Club for the use of the Woodbine course tor two days, in which a varied program of hunt races, steeplechases and polo pony races nad gymkhana events will be given, with the addition of an open steeplechase each day, and possibly an open flat race for Canadian owners. If the meeting is not held at the Woodbine, the program, with alterations, will be carried out on the grounds of .the Toronto Hunt. The Hunt Club Is the possessor of a number of challenge cups, Including the D Alton McCarthy Memorial Plate, whlchr must .be .ruu for annually. .
