HORSEMEN WANT NO SYNDICATE BETTING. Many Threaten to Leave Hamilton Unless the Ring Is Open Outlook for East Track. Hamilton, Out., September 24. The fall meeting of the Hamilton Jockey Club,, scheduled for eight days, begins tomorrow. Secretary Louden haa provided an excellent program for the opening, the feature of which is to be a handicap at one mile and n sixteenth. Large- fields arc named to go in all six races. They are evenly balanced and picking wiuuers looks no easy task. A majority of the stables Avhich took part In the Toronto meeting are here. The Seagram and Corrlgan strings are absent, however, the former being shipped- to New York while Mr. Corrigans lot Went to Louisville. Many of the bookmakers who operated at Woodbine arc here anxious to cut in.; Smith and Perry of Chicago, have the betting privileges and It is a question as to whether they will allow the -ring to be "an open one. In the event of syndicate booking, several of the horsemen have threatened to ship, .their stables away.
