NICOL COMES NEAR TO DROWNING. Toronto, Ont., September 24. Jockey Dave Nicol was nearly drowned at the Huinber yesterday. With a party of friends, among them Tommy Ryan, Lome Adams, jockey Treubel and Frank Garrett, he drove in an automobile to-,theHumberi?ins;the afternoon and white there went out paddling in a punt. This- boat, an old leaky craft, sank and NJcol was pulled out in an exhausted condition. He was taken to a hotel and it was nearly half an hour before he was considered out-of danger.
