The light rain of last night had a beneficial effect on the track today. It was lightning fast. .The-: beautiful, weather and the prospect of good sport brought out n : big crowd. Two favorites, three second choice and an outsider won. The feature race -was. the. handicap, nt.onc and one-sixteenth, miles.- It was- won. by Bryan, the second choice. Solon Shingle-received a wretched ride from Hogg. Royal "Window, the heaviest backed horse in the race, finished outside the money.. In his eagerness to get away from the post, jockey Davis broke the barrier and -would not obey starter Murrays instructions. Davis was suspended for two days. Little Red, at 15 to 1, had no trouble in disposing of his opponents in the closing race. Toots Mook, the odds-pa favorite in the opening race, was all but left at the post and was pulled up. The stewards conducted an investigation and decided that no one was to blame. The filly was kicked at the start and would not break with the others..
