Miss Officious began with her customary slowness and was taken wide throughout, but linished fast and won drawing away. Minot, badly ridden, ran a good race, but was allowed to swerve badly through the stretch and interfered with Boserrian. The latter showed the most early speed and raced Hereafter into defeat before going a half, but could not overcome the bumping and was forced to suffer defeat. Jacomo. also suffered from interference and had to go wide most of the way, ran a good race and, with clear sailing, would have been a sharp factor. Zipango saved ground when turning into the stretch, but only ran fairly well. Timothy Wen ran well to the stretch. Principia, much the best in the going, had to overcome a lot of interference in the early stages and was forced wide into the stretch but, going well at the end, outstayed Tarp. The latter saved much ground by a close turn into the stretch, finished fast and showed improved form. Fargo was poorly handled and ran a good race. Roscoe, poorly ridden, ran a bad race and can do much better. Green Room bolted on the stretch turn and was pulled up. Sir Russell ran a good race and was right thero throughout, finishing gamely. Excitement held on well In the final drive and was favored by the going. Mlltiades is an in-and-outer and ran poorly. Don Domo showed a good flash of speed during the mlddlo stages, but tired fast in the final drive. Aubuchon, on Old Stone, lost both stirrups when the horse stumbled and eased him up In the stretch. Gracchus, given a good ride today, followed Nedra closely for the first half, wore her down on the stretch turn and, after a hard drive, won going away. The latter broke running and, showing much speed and a liking for the going, hung on well, although swerving In the last sixteenth. Clamor came from a long way back In the stretch and finished fast. Tulip also ran a good race and overcame a lot of interference. Sallle Suter, away poorly, had to weave her way through and ran a winning race. Ericson tired after going a half. Tetanus was knocked back soon after the start and had scant chance thereafter. Corrected weights; Veneto, 98.
