PUBLIC HAS A WINNING DAY AT HAMILTON. Schilling Charges Foley With Striking Him With Whip Jockey Burton Is Cautioned. Hamilton, Ont., October 2. Three favorites, three second choices and one outsider won the races today and all In all the betting public had the best of it. The feature at a mile and a half was taken In handy fashion by Blue Buck with Reservation second and Factotum third. The steeplechase went to Knobhampton. He fenced well and won witli ease. Bilberry fell and after being remounted by Austin, finished fourth. The aged jumper, Mrs. Granuan, went down early. This was the mares first start in a long time. Jockey Schilling complained to the judges after the sixth race that Foley had -struck him with his whip while at the post. Foley when questioned made a sweeping denial. The judges have the charge under consideration. Jockey Burton, on Ma fa Ida in the last, allowed his mount to swerve badly and was cautioned. Reticent, the winner of the race, was bid np 1906.sh50 and retained by his owner. In the last race Ruth W. was claimed by J. B. Dunn for 1906.sh25, and Kilts was claimed by It. S. Davidson for 25.
