JIMMY ROWES FLEETING MEMORY. Things must come pretty fast- in the life of the successful trainer of racehorses, for many of them seem to forget leading details of important events in their careers. Two mon in the paddock, at Brighton Beach on the closing day of the autumn meeting were discussing the fleeting memories of horsemen In general when James Rowe, trainer of James R. Keenes stable,, joined them. "Ill bet Jimmy Howe does not remember anything about the last race he rode," said one of the men. "How about it, Jimmy?" Mr. Rowe gazed ruminatively out into infield a minute and then gave it up. - "Youre right," he said, "I cant remember about that race to save my life. It was at Jerome jFairrettr.sitabbirVlitff the bprscls; name was Ive clean forgotten. I believe it was Fadladeen no, it tfas GId Spindrift. To tell the" truth, however, I really dont know I cant remember anything about that race, and yet youd think a fellow who rode as long as I did would remember his last race. But whatever it was I dont- imagine I won it or I wouldnt be so hazy about it.".
